Betty
Bramlett was born in Augusta, GA, moved to Charleston, SC
where she attended elementary/junior high schools, and has spent most of her adult life in Spartanburg. She graduated
from Spartanburg High School, Converse College (BA in Fine
Arts 1947), Columbia University (MA in Fine Arts and
Supervision 1959), The University of South Carolina (Ed D in
Supervision and Instruction 1983), and served as Fine Arts
Co-coordinator for the Spartanburg County School District No.
7 for 42 years.

Statement
"For many years, my focus
has been on exploring water media through many forms of mixed
media. All of my paintings are based upon the environment
around my house-creek, rocks, trees, grasses, flowers-that
have produced my abstract works."
