Artist's
Statement
"In
my studies of physics and the natural world, I have been
exploring theories about universal and interconnected form. In
my work, I use forms and patterns which represent ideas about
how things are connected on both microscopic and macro-scale
levels. In essence, I have developed my own way of visualizing
nature as a unified field. And my work is basically about this
way that I see all things fitting together in a seemingly
chaotic world, to create a cosmos that I feel cannot be
overlooked. Chaos
and cosmos is a good way to also describe the way I work. I
begin with seemingly chaotic layers of oil paint, wax, and
resin. Then, as I scrape and move paint on the surface while
adding more layers of marks, forms emerge and the connections
are revealed. Cosmos!"
