Amy has a BFA from the
University of North Carolina and a MFA in photography
and video from the University of Florida. She has taught
film and photography courses at the University of
Florida and Denver Academy and has participated in
exhibits in Illinois, Florida, North Carolina, and
Colorado. "My current work explores ideas of gender
as performance. I love a parade, a march, a protest, an
intervention, a subversion, a staging, a competition, a
test of endurance, limits, thresholds, transformations
and change. Those places of categorized identity in
which I retool to become places that don't fit so neatly
into a category; places in between male/female,
gay/straight, internal mind/external world, are the
visual locations of my work"
