Nicholas has his BFA from Albion College and is currently an MFA candidate at the University of South Carolina. He received the Best in Show award at the Muskegon Regional Art Show and has participated in the Kalamazoo Art Show, Red Tub Solo Show, and South Carolina Artist of the Year Auction. "The current series of drawings I am working on deal with the link between my conscious and subconscious mind. I am taping into these obscured images by creating atmospheres and compositions through free-association drawing and pouring ink onto the paper.  I then use my conscious mind to manipulate the forms and images with planned use of color and media control."
