Artist’s Statement
“Any
cohesiveness found in my work is usually due to my passion for
mark-making and a consistent interest in the relatedness of
systems and people. I’m interested in focusing less on my
particular experience, and more on how my experience is oddly
but understandably similar to others. Using basic information
and generalized nostalgia, I try to call attention to the
continuances in our lives, from one person to the next, one
generation to the next, or simply, one anything to the next.
Technology, wealth, location, and other individual experiences
seem to differentiate us from each other, our ancestors, and
our environment, but stripping away the details usually
reveals our similarities.”
