Paula received her BA from Lander College in Greenwood, SC and her MAT from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. She has been published in Lake Murray Magazine and Alive with Art and is currently a member of the South Carolina Watercolor Society. Paula has received and been nominated for numerous awards including “Teacher of the Year”, “Outstanding Young Educator”, and Reader’s Choice’s “Best Local Artist”. Presently, Paula is an Assistant Professor of Art at Newberry College.

Artist’s Statement

“Texture!  I love it, all aspects of it. The feel and the look of it, whether I am trying to capture it in an implied way in a painting or a print or creating more physical, tactile textures in clay. I like emphasizing contrast in all of my work also. Contrast in color, in value and in texture has always captured my attention. These are the elements I love to work with.”
