Oil Painting Workshop with Randall McKissick

Explore impressionistic landscape painting in oil with Randall McKissick. The class will focus on technique, color and composition adding life and light into your landscapes. For the intermediate to advanced painter. The class is on Wednesday nights from 6-9 pm starting June 4, 2008 and runs for six weeks.  The workshop fee is $200.00.

Get back to basics with the Tuesday night Basic Oil Painting class. You will have the opportunity to explore several oil painting techniques. The class runs from 6-8:30pm every Tuesday for four weeks. The class begins Tuesday, June 3, 2008. The session fee is $100.00.   Instructor:  Blake Morgan

Acrylic Painting Workshop   Learn to work with acrylic paint and improve your painting skills. The students will be taught basic painting techniques, color mixing and selection, explore acrylic mediums, as well as composition. The class begins Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 6 - 8:30 pm  The session fee is $150.00.  Visit us in the retail store and we'll help you find the supplies you need.  Instructor:  Esther Melton

Children's Summer Art Camp!

Dates: June 16-20, June 23-27, July 7-11  

9:00 - 11:30 am   

Instructor: Evan Donevant, Assistant Gallery Director

Ages: 8-12

Beginning with the mystical cave paintings from thousands of years ago and continuing through contemporary art, each week-long camp will not only teach the students about art history but give them a chance to put the techniques into practice! Lessons will be implemented with images and discussion of relevant works in the gallery. Students will learn about painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, and printmaking as they apply ideas of realism, abstraction, color, and symbolism to their own unique works of art! The week-long camp fee is $130.00

Get back to basics with the Friday morning  Oil Painting class. You will have the opportunity to explore several oil painting techniques. The class runs from 10am-12:30pm every Friday for four weeks. The class begins Friday, May 16, 2008.    The session fee is $100.00.

Watercolor with Esther Melton

The watercolor class will include the different methods of traditional watercolor painting, composition, and how to mix and glaze colors. The class is suitable for the beginner or intermediate painter. The class runs for six weeks on Tuesday mornings. Class will begin June 3rd from 10 am - 12:30 pm.  The session fee is $150.00 for 6 weeks. 

 SIGN ME UP     

This oil painting workshop will place an emphasis on getting acquainted with the materials, basic concepts and ideas about color, shape, composition, and how to begin a painting will be introduced. Conceptual ideas about the visual translation from nature to canvas will also be discussed. All painting levels are welcome. The class runs six weeks on Monday night from  6pm -9pm.  Session fee is $150.00
