Jane was a fine arts major at Anderson College and attended the University of South Carolina. Teaching art and craft classes at Dutch Door (City Art) and Midlands Technical College in Columbia has been a valuable learning experience. Jane has received numerous awards, which include Best in Show - Palmetto Painters and decorative painting - SC State Fair.
Each gourd is an individual work of art, hand painted with specially blended inks and dyes. Some have gold leaf, glass beads, fibers, and objet d'art. Gourds are known as the pottery of the plant world and Jane's creations reflect this idea. They can be used to store dried flowers, food or other items or simply enjoy them as the beautiful pieces they are.
