I use my work to describe what life changing is and what people do. I am looking for different ways to create something different and interesting.
I keep thinking about the life and the exchanging culture. Somehow, they respond to me an interesting vision, which I can work with. Because of it, in my work, I hope viewers can feel the context combining reality and imagination.
Biography
I am from the small northeastern Chinese town of Benxi City. I was an undergraduate at Luxun Academy of Fine Art in Liaoning, China. I currently live in Columbia, South Carolina. Also, I am working on my MFA degree in University of South Carolina. My works have been shown throughout the United States, Italy and China.
I am interested in how culture influences our way of looking and understanding of art. Art enriches our lives, and our life experiences lead to various forms of artistic expressions. Thus, deep understanding of different cultures and ways of life become one of the most effective means of learning artistic expression. I grew up in China, and also finished my undergraduate in a fine art university there. I currently live in Columbia. With my cultural and artistic background, I am interested in exploring how cultures are exchanged. After I came to America and started to get to know the culture here, I recognized how different my own culture and tradition are. At the same time, I also find the similarity between East and West, which quite interesting too. Because of that, from my work, viewers can see how the life in the past was and how the contemporary life is.
